This page is intended to provide simple routes to results so users do not have to understand the full details of the cataloguing or search protocols to find a wide range of information.
NOTE — THIS IS A TEST PAGE
As an example, users wanting to access the SHIB-coded files about allegations of Syrian use of chemical weapons do not need to remember that these are coded as D6.57 and its subfiles, but can simply open the Syria page where codes relating to that country and its activities are provided. In addition, each page has links to relevant entries within the CBW Events coding system.
Countries are listed by the names that are used within the UN and are in the order listed by the UN. Some past entities are included where there are related files, such as the USSR and Yugoslavia. Links below open in a new tab or window depending on your device settings.
The two-letter codes after each name are the codes based on ISO-3166-2, which with the odd exception, are used within the keywords section of the catalogue to define countries. The SHIB system used a bespoke set of three-letter codes for countries.
PLEASE NOTE: These pages are still being developed and so not all the pages below have been fully coded yet. In addition, the catalogue is still being collated with only a proportion of the holdings currently included. In addition, for the purposes of developing this data retrieval system, only part of the catalogue has been uploaded here at this time.
Example entries being used to develop the coding are:
- 1925 Geneva Protocol
- 1972 Biological Weapons Convention
- 1993 Chemical Weapons Convention
- Incapacitants
- acnsac
